Alisa Ganieva had a very important talk with her colleagues from Belarus (Viktor Martinovich) and Ukraine (Ostap Slivinsky) with the introduction from Katharina Raabe (Suhrkamp Verlag, Germany). Do the fellow writers from three neighboring countries redefine their role as intellectuals in troubled communities, rethinking the relationship between the poet and the power? How do they perceive each other’s situation? How do they cope with increasing fear and intimidation—and how to reconfirm values such as freedom, responsibility, and truth?
This event took place as a cooperation of the Cultural Foundation Schloss Wiepersdorf and the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (LCB).
